| Sethoxydim (Nabu) is one kind of high effective, low toxic, low-level pesticide residue and great additional value herbicides of broadleaved fields. Sethoxydim possesses high extremely systemic conductivity and selectivity, it is almost effective for taking weeds of the grass family out in the fields of all broadleaved crops, and it's safety for crops. It's quite suitable for protecting and getting rid of weeds of the grass family in the fields of soybeans, cotton, rape, beet, peanuts and broadleaved vegetables. Therefore, it has been well receiving in the present markets as for a selective post emergence herbicide for broad-leaf weeds in the dry farmland. This kind of herbicide was developed and met with success by Nippon Soda Company initially, being the first to enter our domestic market to be sold. There are approximately 1,500 tons in selling volume each year only in Heilongjiang Province where soybeans are grown chiefly in our country. Furthermore the selling volume has been increasing year after year. Our company made a sustained effort for about two years and a half. In the year 2001, we fulfilled the commercial scale. The productive arrangement scale is the biggest in home up to now. The annual output of Sethoxydim converted into the concentrate is 150tons, the formulations (12.5% machine oil-emulsifiable concentrate) 1,200 tons. The scale and economic returns are striking. Following that the new scientific and technological item evaluated at the provincial level by Hebei Province in 2002, the new innovative scientific and technological item at the national level has been arranged. The product quality has been determined by the authorized department, the total yield reached 60%, and the purity of product was more than 95%. Two years' popularized big area experiment in the fields made it clear that not only the safety of product but the effectiveness as well reached the equal level which was compared with the same product of foreign countries. And the price has a clear competitive edge. There will be broad prospects for domestic and export markets.
